You’ll hear from singers of every level and background. Some students share stories of auditioning for The Voice—with a few even earning callbacks—or landing their dream lead role with local theaters like TACT and Thalian, while others celebrate their debut with Opera House or the confidence they’ve gained leading praise and worship teams. You’ll also find singer-songwriters who saw their performances transform in just a short time, enhancing their tours and recordings, alongside beginners who once believed they “couldn’t sing” but discovered a voice they now love. Each testimony reflects a unique journey, and together they show how every singer—no matter the starting point—can grow and thrive at WVC.
In your lessons, we'll work through any vocal challenges you'd like to overcome, using a blend of science-backed Estill Voice-based methods, bel canto breath and open throat, and Speech Level Singing for a blended, balanced approach that’s easy to feel and understand. We'll smooth out transitions between your vocal registers and expand your vocal range, making your voice feel strong, connected, balanced, and authentic. You'll find that your vocal pitch will become steadier, your vocal tone more beautiful and expressive, without any tension or strain.
In each 30-minute lesson, the warm-up itself is built directly into the easy, effective science-based methods and techniques. This means you’re not only warming up the voice—you’re aligning and anchoring it at the same time within carefully chosen method positions and expansive, exaggerated sounds. In turn, you gain a stronger sense of connection within your voice, grounding vocal spaces with greater resonance and flow. These heightened sensations give a pure, connected feel of freedom and balance within your voice.
When we move into a song, your voice naturally recalls these spaces and aligns with greater ease, creating healthy patterns, making each lesson complete, focused, and effective. Every minute is purposeful, your attention span stays sharp, and you leave with follow-through exercises to continue your growth between lessons.
Originally from Miami, FL, born into a musical family with both parents as national and international jazz artists, I followed in their footsteps. I began singing at the age of 4 and performing professionally by the age of 7, in theater show spots, private engagements, solo performances in places of worship, as the featured lead vocalist in pop/R&B bands, jazz trios, and on recording projects. My vocal training encompasses a variety of methodologies, including Estill Voice Training® principles (Foundations certified, ongoing study in Levels 1–2), bel canto breathing, and Speech Level Singing, supporting healthy technique across all musical styles. I've had the opportunity to study with a diverse group of voice teachers, beginning with Carolyn Stanford, Classical (Miami), Brett Manning, Speech Level (Nashville), Claude Stein, Pop/R&B (NYC), and Joe Spinella, Classical/Musical Theater (SRQ). I've been coaching since 2004, and I've been a resident of Wilmington, NC, since 2012.
